Meet Our New Vicar, Fr. Gill De Azevedo
It is my great joy to be here at St. Stephen’s/San Esteban! After living in Michigan and serving in two parishes, in Kalamazoo and Paw Paw, the end of one ministry means the beginning of a new one. I bring with me a love of Jesus and an enthusiasm for theology and liturgy. I love evangelism and helping to build a spiritual community with the many resources that our Anglican tradition offers. I have a passion to work in a multi-cultural ministry and Evangelism is the word. The best thing in life is sharing the Good News and listening and learning about other people’s journey of Faith.
I was born and raised in Brazil, so I love soccer and have gained an affection for American football too (Go Patriots and GO BLUE-WOLVERINES). My wife, Tiffany, is from Michigan and we will celebrate our 22nd anniversary in September. We have one child, Ian (20), born in Snellville, Ga. We love spending time with our family and are looking forward to being close to the family members that we have in Utah once again. Growing up I loved playing soccer and surfing and now that I am older I like playing board games and watching Star Trek or a good movie. Most of all, I love to spend time with my family and friends any chance we get. We are thrilled to be back in Utah and we are looking forward to seeing what journey the Lord will bring to us.
